One Hundred and Fifteen

These are the backwards facing seats they throw into the back of the bottom of the double decker busses.

I do not understand how they came up with these socially-awkward-situation-creating seat arrangements. It's so rare that groups of four take the bus together, unless they're a family with a stroller or small children, in which case they'd be up at the front anyway, or, because it's a two-story vehicle, at the top because kids love that shit. So usually, what happens is you have four adult strangers, all with backpacks or purses or guitars they have to hold onto, sitting together. They are forced to face each other and trying desperately not to make eye contact. It sucks so bad when you're the backwards aisle seat person. There's NOWHERE for you to stare except at your own knees.

Is this some kind of space saving device? No, because it's the same amount of seats, same amount of space. The same number of people fit there. Why did they do this to us?

This is why the seats in my photo are so busted; people get on the bus, go to the back and put their feet up on the seats in front of them. First of all, it's hella comfortable. Secondly, that way nobody will sit there. And nobody wants to sit there anyway, so what the bus designers have basically come up with are really elaborate foot rests for the people sitting in the back of the bus. Nice work guys!

One Hundred and Ten

Some mornings the sun is unbearable.
This particular morning I didn't have nearly enough coffee to deal with the sunshine.

One Hundred And Eight

I love this sign ... it's tough to see from this photo (so I made it really really big) but there's a cute little red thread that weaves from the needle through all the letters.

I also like the word "notions".

Fifty

I don't know who designed this bus, but they should know that feeling like I'm at a rave is not top on my transportation priorities.

Thirty Seven

This was taken from the second story window of a bus.
It was a rainy morning.

Don't they know
this just makes us want to cross

I don't know why on earth
they give us free WiFi at the bus stop.
But I sure do appreciate it sometimes.

Sorry for the extreme corner rounding,
I was being silly with the photo editor.
